Vista Home
Installed a WD 500GB hard drive. In computer management, after selecting that drive
I expected to get an option to format it. The only action I see is "New Simple Volume".
Is this what I use?

The HD came with a CD and I try to run "Run Data Lifeguard Installation Software", but
get an "Error Opening Windows/DLG/Setup.exe"

Thanks.

PS... this is an additional HD, not replacing the boot HD.

You have to create one or more volumes before you can format.

Hi Earl,

Yes, create the volume, then format it.
