I recently changed my hard drive. I just got a message of low space . I got
looking and it's only seeing 16gbs when it's an 80gbs drive I also seen it
was still in the FAT system. is there any way to change to ntsf and get it to
see the whole drive without starting over?

"Just changed hd" as to started from scratch with it,or mirrored old to
it.How
did FAT32 end up on it..You can convert,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS Id say the installation of xp was wrong, other hds
still connected,or similiar, new hds 99.9% of the time come in a raw state,if
FAT32 was present, then at installation you should have deleted all
partitions,
created one, then xp would format & install auto in NTFS

Yes you can convert file systems non destructively. However you will lose
any save System Restore points but System Restore will start creating new
points following the conversion.

From Windows go to Start->Run and the enter the following command and click
OK.
CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS

you will have to reboot for the conversion to take place. Converting to NTFS
is not going to change the fact that you are only seeing 16GB of an 80GB
drive. To help with that problem we need more information.

the reason it started in fat system is I used my restore disk that loads
windows ME. then I loaded xp home edition upgrade.

That was unnecessary. The requirement to use an upgrade version is to
*own* a previous qualifying version's installation CD, not to have it
installed. When setup doesn't find a previous qualifying version
installed, it will prompt you to insert its CD as proof of ownership.
Just insert the previous version's CD, and follow the prompts.
Everything proceeds quite normally and quite legitimately.
