New Hard Drive

My hard drive was replaced by ComPaq and Windows XP
reloaded. Now the screen blinks on and off while online
and I cannot open any word document. It does not
recognize them. Compaq has said that I need to reload
Windows XP but I do no thave the disc as it came in my
computer when it was new and it was reloaded by Compaq.
Any ideas?
