I have just add a SATA 250 gig drive to my perfectly
running XP Pro sp1 setup. My intention is to copy the
current contents of the ATA NTFS C: drive to the new one,
remove the c:\, then start booting from the new drive.
I'v done this a 100 times and have never had a problem.
But with this SATA drive I can format it to be dynamic
NTFS drive, access it and copy files to it. But, I can't
seem to make it a bootable drive or give it a master boot
record.

Does any one know what to do? I am so frustrated!

Thanks.

Get hold of a program called ghost off the net and then
use it to clone the drive this will copy the partition
and the master boot record, you will also have all the
settings of the machine already set-up from the hardware
settings to your personal files. hope this helps

Just a question: Is a dynamic drive bootable??
