"A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error code: 0X80090006"

This message appears every time when i log in to my windows. I have a new harddrive (maxtor diamondmax 10, model 6L300R0 300gb, in case somebody needs it) installed. Its the Windows activation thing, but i have no idea how to repair the problem. I can use my computer with the old harddrive, and i got the new one to work by putting it in the computer with the old one. But i bet some of u guys or girls can help me!

Plz i really need the new harddrive to use, the old one is 41gb... And sorry for my bad english im from Finland.
Oh, and the windows is professional SP1, dont ask me why...

Can I have the full story please ... did you 'clone' this drive?

Have you a 'real' XP CD? Is there a MS sticker on your PC?

hmm.. I used maxtor maxblast 4 to make a bootable disk from the old harddrive, and my windows is from my friend, so i guess its a "pirate version". And i dont have the cd with me, its in my friends place(duh)
And the sticker, i dont have it because this was my friends computer before, and i think he tear it off xD. hewlett packard box.

You need to buy a new 'real' copy of Windows.

Dang #headshot# that costs money man and i dont have it... damn got to just use the old hd too... :wall: Well i could also try to install windows again... But that sucks... I hate computers.. From time to time i just want to throw it out of the window... ... ... ahh well... not ur fault... microsoft... maybe ill start using linux...

Yeah maybe you should try Linux but the distro still costs money if you want to buy a boxed disc from the shops....
