Quick update to my previous post. The hard drive o/s is Windows 2000
pro NTFS and boots perfectly with the amptron mb. Pluging the hd from
the amptron system to the P4PE system, the hd boots and starts loading
the win2k o/s then goes to a blue screen and message says that it has
an "inaccessible_boot_devive" and suggests running chkdsk /r from the
cd which didnt help.

Have proved the P4PE mb is ok by installing a fresh copy of win2k ntfs
on another hard drive and it worked perfectly. Would appreciate any
suggestions. Many thanks...

This same thing happened to me when I tried to move my Win 2K Pro hard drive
to another computer...I got the same exact message. So I moved the hard
drive back to the old system, backed up the whole hard drive and then moved
it back to the other system. I did a format and fresh install and all went
well.

I've tried everything from booting with the Win 2K bootable CD to load the
drivers of the new system (using the F6 key)but that still did not help a
bit.

The hardware on different motherboards is different. One example is USB
and USB2 or SDRAM and DDR RAM. These different motherboards do not run
the same. Win2K is particular about the hardware. If you have to
register your OS the motherboard is part of the key. If it does not match
any longer MS considers you a crook. Bill Gates is an idiot.
