i was wondering anyone could assist me with my hard drive issue?

basically i have a western digital slave drive (second drive) instal
on my custom made machine, running WinXP Pro SP2

the WDHD is 160GB...and not e ven using 10gbs of space..so its fairl
empty and just within the past week, the hard drive has been buzzing
itsn ot vibrating..or anything, the performance isnt slow either
theres just a buzz..like there is interferance..ive tried it in a fe
different computers and sometimes its louderi n some then others...a
first i thought it might have been the PowerSupply, which is a 42
PSU...i thought that could be causing the interferance with it
perhaps it couldnt handle all the power? my main HD is a WesterDi
250gb which runs fine aswell..and i got the second drive over a mont
and a half ago..so im not sure wahts the problem with it? it does no
click, all the files are accessible and no errors have been given,
scanned ti for everything ,viruses, errors, did a scandisk, degragge
jsut to move stuff around and get it together..so im not sure...it
just sort of irrirating hearing this buzz when im not sure what
causing it, everything is plugged in correctly (obviously) so...
dont know, it goes beyond my skill and comprehension.

if any one can help id appreciate it very much. thank

Drives are not supposed to buzz. Call Western Digital. Do not put any
important information on that drive or you may lose it.

If you knew as much as you think you know,
You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew!

Some drives make noise. Plain and simple. Some are louder than others, some
have a particular whine, some "click" louder than other ones. Normally
identical drives will make the same noises but since you have different
drives, it could just be that the one you have set as a slave is just louder
than your other. Western Digital makes some 10,000 RPM SATA drives they call
"Raptor". The 36 gig one has a little buzz/whine especially when it spins
up. I hear the 70 gig ones don't do that. As long as the drive isn't giving
any problems I wouldn't worry about it. I also wouldn't get another drive
like it if you don't like the noise.
It probably makes more noise in some cases than in others because of the
case material and how much other stuff is in that case making noise. Other
things around it will drown out the noise from the drive. Certain case
material will obsorb more noise than others. One comp can make more noise in
one case than in another simply because it's a different case.
