I have a network of 6 computers at work which are all connected as a pear
pear network. they are all running Windows Professional. They are behind a
adtran router provided by my t1 service. Each of these computers has been
givin a Private static IP Address prefix 10.0.0.xxx. One of these computers
has been linked to a public public IP address with prefix 208.57.165.xxx and
I am trying to provide service to a vertual private connection to my home
computer. My home computer has windos xp home edition on it. and is uses
dial up to connect to the internet with a varring address with prefix
208.57.1.xxx.

On the Server I set up an incomming connection, and checked the box that
says "callers may access my local area network". I have opened port 1723,
1701, and 3389. I have been successfur at establishing a remote desktop
connection and a VNC connection.

On the remote computer I went through the new connections wizard and
followed the connect to a network at my work place to establish a VPN
connection. after obtaining internet access, I try to connect to the office
computer, and I recieve Error 721.

I am not sure what user name and password I am suposto be using to get in to
the network, weather it is the log in for the hime computer or that for the
office computer. any help will be appriciated.

can you telnet port 1723? it could be the GRE issue. check this page for the details,

vpn process and errore Checking GRE Protocol: after verifying the Username and Password, the VPN will check GRE ... If the IP protocol 47 is blocked, you may receive error 721. ...
