new guy to win 2k

Im having a devil of a time trying to get online with a
Compaq 7800 armada laptop. It came with a fresh install
of win 2k pro.I have a 33k dialup modem driven by Compaq
armada II(7000) series software.I figured out that it
didn t install the PPP protocals, so I manually did
that......got a 720 error. Then figured out I needed to
install the Net bios......did that and now get a 734
error. any help would be appreciated, Its just a home
sometimes computer that Im tryin ta figure out. would
like ta use it on vacations and such. thanks for any help
folks .

I ve posted this on the newbie page and found this news
group ....have a better shot here I believe.This is a
cross post from DNS as suggested.
 
I think you have a reply to an identical post in m.p.win2000.dns. Please
don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best to

ROFLOL now I guess Kevin is confused, I directed follow ups to this group. I
guess he didn't think to look for the cross post I made.
