new graphics card

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new card and was considering the new 9800
XT could some one please help me out. I was hoping to get some pro's
and cons on the card I have been doing some research on it and seen
that it does have some problems and was just wondering if there are
any that could really be a deal breaker. the card will be used for
games and video editing.
 
No deal breakers. Just the usual people bitching about the usual driver
quirks, and no card is free from that. It's expensive, but it's also the
fastest and best gaming card available.

But you might want to consider one of the All-in-Wonder models, which adds a
lot of extra video editing options. Check www.rage3d.com for news, reviews,
and forums full of helpful owners.

Pro's and Cons ?

Mmm... well it's a bleeting fast card that for a pretty long while
will be perfect for gaming.

But you wish to do video editing..mmm.. an MPEG encoder is rather
useful. search for AIW versions. Those contain more usefull mpeg
controllers!
 
thanks for the help, i want the 256 mb of on board memory and i haven't seen
any of the aiw cards with it.

256MB of onboard memory is going to do precious little for you unless your
primary goal is to use the maximum size textures in the games that will come
out in a year or two, at which time your board will be sorely out of date.
