New GFX cards

yeah thanks m8. I actually saw them on OcUK the other day and forgot about them being a little cheaper. Im hoping by the time I get round to buying them they will have dropped a little more. Only time will tell.

Still need to get my X2 CPU yet. I hate money, it's crap lol

what CPU are you going for ? and is your motherboard compatible ?

no such thing as a 4000 yet, theres

3800
4200
4400
4600
4800
FX60

LOL I know your gonna say I was imagining it. But I defo saw a company advertising a 4000. Dont ask me who and maybe it was a misprint but I defo saw one. Because I was surprised at it aswell.

I guess its gonna be the 4200 :'( more money lol

I dont knw m8 to be honest I cant remember all I jnw is I was searchign for prices for X2 CPu's

Nope I usually stick to the main retailer I use. Microdirect and a couple others

I dont search for them really

If i were you i would wait for the 7900 GT to arrive, at 299$ (173 pounds) it is a damn good deal!

$299 normally works out about £250 in britain once tony imposes his nice taxing on things. UK = worst place ever for buying anything.

Really, i go to xe.com for all the converting. taxes are that bad?

No, they are not ... but anything listed in the USA @ $299 is usually selling for £299 ... we see this all too often on US Imports.

I once bought a MB from the US ... great price, £50 cheaper than here in the UK ... then I got an import duty Bill of £87 ... never done it since.

However, If I buy Software "on-line" (download) I ALWAYS use a US site ... I get a better exchange rate. ;)

Yeah cool I never thought of that. I wonder if Microsoft do a download for the XP x64 online?

It would work out pretty much nearly half price compared to here!

They don't at the moment ... but Vista will go that route.

From what I have been reading you will be able to "upgrade" your copy of Vista on-line. Don't ask me for details as MS have not finalised anything yet.

:D
