Process Patrol

Here's a little Windows utility program just released earlier this month.
You tell it which processes to watch for, and it will scan your system and
stop them. It's especially useful if you're stuck with adware that you can't
uninstall because other software is dependent on it (e.g. free file
sharing programs). It optionally (and temporarily) renames the process files
so that they are not continuously restarted.

I'll vouch for this program... it's brilliant.. I've been trying to
instal some editing software for weeks without success. Nobody,
including the program's writer, could understand why I couldn't
instal. I recently bought a new Windows XP equipped PC which had
PC-cillin installed even though I never asked for it. Today I stopped
all active PC-cillin programs and instantly the editing software began
to instal.

Now all I need to do is uninstall the spyware ridden PC-cillin, which
I've been trying to do since day 1 without success, and I'll be a
happy man. Any ideas?

First, thanks for the kind words about Process Patrol, that was my feel-good
for the day!

About pc-cillin, looking at an overview of it here:
http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/desktop/pc-cillin/evaluate/overview.htm,
it sure sounds like a product that you might want to keep.

Have you tried their suggestions for uninstalling? From the above website,
click on the Support menu at the top, and then type:
uninstall pc-cillin
in the 'Search by Keywords' text box about half-way down the page. Click on
the Search button next to it and you'll see a long list of ways to
uninstall, depending on which OS and which version of pc-cillin that you
have.

Good luck!
Jean
