Hello,

I just installed 2 new fonts (yes, I placed them in the
Font folder in my Windows folder). However, they are not
showing up on my Font drop-down list...for FrontPage or
any MS application. Am I forgetting something?

Thanks!

Did you open the FONTS folder and then
select File > Install new font??

You can't just "place" them in the folder,
Windows has to update it's fonts list.

That said, if you use them in your web site,
no one else will see them unless they have the same fonts
installed.

Thank you...I knew I forgot a step.
However, I will be using the font in word art, which, in
my experience, will show correctly on another person's
computer.

Try restarting the computer.
Fonts are loaded during the boot sequence.

I installed the font, but it still does not display as a
font selection. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Alexis -

Just a thought - are you sure you know what the exact name of the font
is? Sometimes the displayed name is not what you'd expect. For example,
I bought and installed a font not long ago called Advertisers Gothic.
After installation, I was going nuts because I didn't see it in the font
list. Turns out it was named/displayed as ATAdvertisersGothic (AT is the
abbreviation for the publisher).

Alexis,

Q - Did you unzip the new font file so you can view it as
a TT file.

If so I usually go this route...

Open the spicific font folder...
Then...Start...Settings>>>Control Panel then open Fonts
folder.

You should be able to drag the TT font from it's folder
into the Font folder in Windows folder view. That is how I
do it, and they are generally viewable the next time I
open FP.

The following is a great source of info regarding fonts...
