Hi,
In windows explorer...if I right-click on a folder and goto properties and
then customize there is a list of several presets to choose from (music,
video, documents, etc) to display which attribute columns display. Is there a
way to edit these, or even better create new templates?
Thanks.

Tools -> Folder Options - 'View' tab -> 'Apply to Folders'

is much more functional than it was in XP. If executed from an 'All Items'
folder, it saves a view template that will only be applied to other folders
that use the 'All Items' template. Ditto for 'Documents', 'Pics & Video',
'Music Icons', and 'Music Details'

Not sure about adding user-defined templates -- would be nice, though.

The machine-wide default layouts appear to be stored under this registry
key:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FolderTypes"

But I haven't had a chance to play around there much yet.
