OUTLOOK 2002
When a new fax contact is created it automatically adds
the international dialing code (in this case +44)to the
fax number.
This is causing problems when an outgoing fax tx is made
using thrid party equipment.
Is there any way to stop this prefix being added to the
newly created number??

Certainly, disable Dialing Rules. Dialing Rules don't work properly unless
numbers are stored in Canonical (International) format, hence Outlook 2002
tries it's best to adjust phone numbers entered to conform to this format:

You Must Enter Telephone Numbers in Canonical Form in Order to Use Dialing
Rules
