Recently I have been getting the following error message when I close a page
I have been navigating on the Net.

iexplore.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x600334a4" referenced memory at "0x01b400f0". The
memory could not be read.
Click OK to terminate the program.

Nothing really seems to be wrong after clicking OK. But I do get the same
error again later on other pages that I view and close.

What could be wrong?
TIA

You may need new video drivers. Check the website of your video board or
computer manufacturer. Meanwhile, you can do the following:

1. Use the default mouse pointers.

2. Turn down your color depth. (Right click the desktop and choose
Properties | Appearance | Settings) Some people find that increasing color
depth helps.

3. Turn down your graphics hardware acceleration. (Start | Settings |
Control Panel | System | Performance | Graphics button) You will see
little, if any, performance degradation.

4. Turn off your desktop wallpaper.

If these make the problem go away you need new video drivers.

Also check your system for "hijackware":

Also check your system for "hijackware":

That's my guess. I think that crash address is too low to indicate
a driver problem. For example, using SysInternals Process Explorer
with a lower pane view of DLLs ordered by Base, I can see these two:

0x5FF50000 (size 0x11000) for msratelc.dll
0x662B0000 for hnetcfg.dll

That implies that there is a (large) hole there for more modules, etc
between 0x5FF61000 and 0x662B0000 (size 634F000).

My computer is quite new - a sturdy NEC system. I don't have any video
problems.
1. Use the default mouse pointers.

I did not change the defaults.
2. Turn down your color depth. (Right click the desktop and choose
Properties | Appearance | Settings) Some people find that increasing color
depth helps.

At Appearance, there is no Settings. So went to Properties | Settings.
My color scheme is Windows Standard. My screen resolution is 1024 by 768
pixels. Color quality is Highest (32 bit). Do I need to alter anything?
3. Turn down your graphics hardware acceleration. (Start | Settings |
Control Panel | System | Performance | Graphics button) You will see
little, if any, performance degradation.

At System there is no Performance button. I'm on XP Home.
4. Turn off your desktop wallpaper.

I do not use wallpaper - to save on resources.

Thanks for your response.

I am not that good on computers, so I couldn't comprehend your response very
well. Could you please tell me in simpler terms what do I have to do.
Thanks

Yes, I'm still here, awaiting a solution. I do have the Earthlink Toolbar.
Am not using it, keeping it hidden, but I've had it from way before I had
this problem. I don't have any Spam blockers, but do have the usual popular
antispywares like, Ad-aware, Spybot, CW Shredder, and SpywareBlaster. These
were also installed way before this problem came up. MSAntiSpyware could
have caused the problem as I had installed it a few weeks ago. I have
uninstalled it, but the problem remains.
If you look up my post "Strange Links" of 1/30/2005, it could be related.
For that too I don't have a solution yet.

I am using Acrobat 6.0 and had updated to 7.0 experienced the same problem.
Rolled back to 6.0 and the problem went away.
: If you're using V7 of Acrobat Reader, roll back. If you're not using
Acrobat
: Reader 7, try updating ;o)
