New email message from quick launch bar

Is there any way to start a new email mesage from the
quick launch bar? There is a button on the office shortcut
bar but it will not let me drag it over to the quick
launch bar.

Create a new shortcut on your desktop with the following target:

outlook.exe /c ipm.note

Then you can drag the shortcut to the QuickLaunch bar.
