New DVD not recognized by Windows

Hello,

I have a new store bought commercial DVD, Night at the Museum, that will not
play back on my DVD-ROM player, although other discs do without incident.
All drivers and firmware are up to date on the driver. After inserting the
disc Windows attempts to read the disc but fails after about 30 seconds.
When I try to explore or open the disc from My Computer Windows gives me an
error "Please insert a disc into Drive E".

Again, the issue is only with this one DVD. All other DVD movies play back
and are recognized without any issues. Any assitance or advice would be
greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Mike

Does it play back in a stand-alone player?

If so, you are probably the victim of one of Hollywood's
schemes to prevent DVD copying - the DVD that plays
in a standalone player, but has a corrupted filestructure such
that it won't register in a PC (to keep you from copying it).

Go here:

ask the forum members about it.

Yes, the DVD does play back in a stand-alone player. It is only this one
specific DVD that Windows will not recognize. I will look to the forum you
suggested for more help. If there is anything else I can try in the mean
time please let me know. Thanks again for your help!

You can look at some of the tools at doom9 to analyze
the DVD and maybe find out what's going on...

Thanks for your help V Green.

I have looked to the forum you suggested but there is a 5 day waiting period
to join their forum. Hopefully there will be someone else who reads this
post who will be able to help me out.

Thanks
