I would like to know how to intall a new hard drive with XP CD. I've installed the drive and can boot from the full windows CD but it is asking for the previous windows (ME, 98, 95 etc..) verification disk. I do not have any of the old windows programs any more. What is the best way around this gauntlet???
 
Barrow a cd from a friend to verify, Do not barrow an upgrade. OEM or full
version.

Sounds like you have an Upgrade CD instead of a Full Install CD. You will
need to borrow a ME or a 98 full install CD so that the Upgrade CD can
complete the new install.
