KSB:
We'll assume you're experiencing *no* problems with your secondary HD
*except* the long shutdown time. Is that right? No problems whatsoever.
And your boot drive operates without any problems -- boots up without
incident in about the same time as it did before you installed that second
drive (perhaps a few seconds longer) and is completely functional? Right?
Now, if you disconnect the secondary HD from the system, what happens re
shutdown time? Timewise the system shuts down properly, i.e., in a
reasonable time? Or there's still a lengthy shutdown period?
Assuming no problems with the system, including the HD, it's not surprising
that the system will take some seconds more to shutdown after you've
installed a large-capacity HD. As the system "acclimates" itself to its new
arrival, shutdown speed should be faster after the new HD has been in daily
use for about a week or so. But a 2 minute shutdown is abnormal and the
cause must be found for this.
And, of course, you've correctly installed that second drive, right?
