I installed a 2nd hard drive and it shows in the bios, it
shows under the Device Manager and from all indication is
is working properly, however, when I go to access the
drive from "My Computer" it does not show up! What is
going on??

I posted a very similar problem yesterday (FireWire/hard
drive problem) but I have now solved it. I have TweakUI
which I don't normally use but wanting to do something with
it today I discovered a 'my computer' tab. This contains a
list of drives you want shown/not shown in 'my computer'.
On checking the new drives they immediately showed up in
'my computer' and are ready to use.

Hope this helps you,

Tony

Hi
Well, i can tell you right away that i'm not an expert... :
But have you configured the new harddrive in Disk Management
What i do when i get a new HDD
1) Run FDISK and create a partiio
2) Run Format on it (NTFS
3) Make sure a drive letter is assigned (Check Disk Management.

You will see the HDD in both BIOS and Device Manager without doing the steps above
But you will not be able to access it, and sometimes not even see it in Explorer

Hope this info helped a bit.

if yr installing 2nd hd as a slave, and assuming you have set the jumpers
correctly, go to disk management and format it
