Hello everyone, 1st post, thanks in advance!

We are setting up a new A.D. with brand new Dell machines.

They are all factory installed and I have to go through the standard
XP setup then delete a user and get it connected to the AD

Is there any way to skip part of the XP as all these desktops will
have no local users...

thanks!

I believe that you would have to put your own sysprepped image on the
machines, which would probably take more time than just manually stepping
through this process on each one. If you've got a thousand machines, it'd
probably be worth the time to go through the steps on one, then sysprep it
and lay that down on all of the other machines, but I'm not sure what the
licensing ramifications might be...

Hi

The only way like the above poster descirbes is to image the system once you have completed setup, this can be done using sysprep or better still if you create a riprep image or a bog standard base ris image if you dont need any soecific apps etc installed and vanilla xp pro with slipstreamed sp will do , sertup a ris server and just boot the machine from their PXE NIC and select the image you have created

One caveat is you will need to includ nic drivers in the image and refernce then in the .sif answer file

This would only be useful if you had MANY machines , if not then take the hit and complete the OOBE manually
