are available now--or at least are for me.

The update went VERY fast--so maybe Steve's promise of delta updates
beginning with this set has been fulfilled.

Do you know whether you went from 5715 to 5717--or a wider gap--say 5713 to
5717?

Got mine through automatic download. Took approx. 5
minutes (quite a bit longer than last time). Went from
5715 to 5717.
Encountered a minor glitch: both System Summary and Help
menu did not show the new def # 5717 even after going off
and on the program several times. I did a re-load of new
defs and 5717 showed up in both places, as it should.
This is the first time this happened. I'll keep an eye on
this.

Thanks--I don't have any easy way to spot the byte-size of the data coming
in. Sometime I'll try to get a look at it on dialup and see if I can tell
whats happening.

The appearance thing you saw is normal--I'd say most people see it. That's
why my advice always says 1) do a file, check for updates, 2) go to Help,
about and see the vesion number.

Step 1 fixes this bug--even though no apparent update is done, it'll correct
the version number and date showing in help, about.

This is a known bug in the beta.

Bill
i dont mind anyways on how long it takes to get the new def,s
its worth it to keep control of the bleeding spys m8,adaware
is marginally quicker, ewido takes 3 times as long,so in comparison
antispyware is 2nd fastest d/l new def,s lol..

Have found that sometimes closing and then reopening MSWAS will resolve
the def number issue. Sometimes running Diagnostics from Help, About
resolves it. And, sometimes, doing the manual check for updates resolves
it. YMMV ...

They better change the UI quick so we can find a new set of workaround to
the new bugs!
