Can any one tell me why when I changed from 2.4GHz to 3.06ghz, stand by does
not happen. This is on my laptop with a SIS chipset. In all respects every
thing else is working as as it should. When I press stand-by button, XP Pro
says its going into standby then closes down but the stand-by led does not
light then on start-up it starts from beginning. Puting 2.4 back in stand by
works. Any ideas?

Overclocking is above board. I didn't mean it was illegal. But, what did you
update? The processor? Mother board? Sidebus speed?

Could you further define 'starts from the beginning'. Is it only the light
(standby) that fails? Please keep in mind that all electronic circuits are
speed limited. That is, they will work at a certain speed but will not work if
speeded up. A transistor for example may switch on with a 5 nanosecond pulse
but won't react to a 2 nanosecond pulse.
When installing a new processor do you have to change a jumper on the mother
board for clock speed?
