Well ive been noticing that my temps are getting a little high when i play games im gonna say because im using up almost all the cpu. I was playing sudden strike forever and im using speedfan to check temps and it was switching me to the desktop when i was playing like 4 times in a row so i checked temps at it was 61c so i closed alot of background programs like internet and other crap... Would anyone know maybe why it would be getitng hot or the program might be miss leading.... and its not crowded around the cpu or motherboard. kinda confusing if you have any ideas let me know.

61c isnt too bad at full load. When it goes over 70c is when ya should think about upgrading your CPU heatsink/fan. Also tak into consideration that these temprature programs can be quite wrong sometimes!

Maybe install some case fans to get the ait circulating round the case better.

Sorry Reefa', but I think that is a little high ... I would expect 40/50s on load ... is this a "stock HSF" or one of your choosing CSUnited?

no its stock which i was woundering if i would need to upgrade but i dont want to waste the money if its gonna be ok

61 is not too hot for the processor but i personally would change the cooler for a better one

If your going to upgrade your heatsinkfan you should look no further than the Thermalright XP-120 , this big boy is about as good as you get. Pair it with a Vatec Stealth 120mm fan , it runs extremely quiet, and when/if the processor gets abit hotter, the fan will automatically spin faster ;).

If your going to upgrade ya might aswell get the best.

Winchester core 64bit CPU should be running much cooler thabn 61C, even at load and with a stock hsf.

Did you install the cooler with the standard thermal gunk thats already on it? If so, you might find that simply cleaning that off using a soft plastic card and something like TIM fluid, and replacing it with Arctic Silver 5 will give you better temps. ( Make sure the whole of the CPU outer heatsink surface is thinly covered - don't apply the paste to the base of the cooler's heatsink). Make sure it's fitted tightly so there's no movement or you simply won't have enough thermal conduction from the chip to the cooler.

If your temp doesn't drop enough then a custom cooler like the Gigabyte Rocket 3d or the Akasa Evo33 can cool to something like 15-17C lower than the stock cooler. (Depending on how high you turn the fan up). Thermalright make great coolers too, but check on their website that their cooler will fit your motherboard Ok. I know more than one person who's got themselves a 120 and found they can't fit it because ram or vid card gets in the way. If it does fit, then it's a bloody good choice.

Obviously good airflow in the case is essential as well so that your cooler doesn't have to fight against higher than necessary ambient (surrounding) temps.

I might have repeated things that others have said, buty it's late and I can't be bothered to read all the replies. I hope this helps:thumb:

I think 61 is pretty damn high if you ask me.
i suggest using Artice Siver 5 or Artice Silver Alumina, as for a heatsink/fan i use a CoolerMasters Areo 7 Lite, i think its a really good cooler that has taken at least 8-10C of my temps.
Good luck!

wednesday i get paid so im gonna by new thermal paste and prob a new heat sink and fan but that might half to wait im paying off my comp :-P
