Why are you asking that question in a newsgroup which is dedicated to
supporting the Windows Mail program?

Most Vista questions can be answered by going to Start, Help and Support.
More complex issues can be posted to a forum dealing specifically with
that topic.

Haven't you heard? Killing off trees to print instruction books is bad
for the eco-health of the planet.

I just bought my 5th omputer. The previous ones came with window instruction
books, but not this time.

I phoned the store (Computer Trends on Pembina Highway,Winnipeg, but was told
that Vista comes without an instruction book. This is ridiculous...something
is not right. Please advise me.

This is not the newsgroup that you need. If you have any questions about the Vista
Operating system then post it to the appropriate Vista newsgroup

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

Also

vista.file_management
vista.hardware_devices
vista.security

And others which you can look up

Press the F1 key.

For future Vista questions post to microsoft.public.windows.vista.general.

Windows Help and Support is the biggest load of crap IMHO

When calling it from one program such as Windows Mail and entering a
search term it gives you links to ALL parts of windows, not just the
Windows Mail!! then you have to look through them all trying to find
something relevant to Windows Mail!

This is a complete schemozzle!! Is M$ too mean to create a help system
just for the program you call it from???

Well, if you need program-specific help rather than general Windows
help, you have two other good options:
1. Press F1 or Help in that program.
2. Ask in a user forum for that program.

Pressing F1 is exactly what I do when in a Windows program such as
Windows Mail.

Press F1 and enter, say, "options" in the search field and this is the
first page of what comes up:-

NEARLY ALL TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO WINDOWS MAIL!!!! Surely asking for
help in Windows Mail should give results related only to windows
Mail!!

I gave up using it ages ago and now find Google much more helpful!

As for asking in a user forum, I usually find no need for that after
going through Google responses.

And in case you are going to ask, "Why then did you post the comment",
it was to have a go at M$ for their complete incompetence in this
area.
