Hello Shenan,
That sounds like it!
I'm trying help, via e-mail, a son and his girl-friend. They have no router.
Shaw Cable doesn't require any software.
They are able to get on line for about 20 secs and, to quote them " then it
wants to reboot..."
I will pass it on, and thanks for responding.
Ben.

| If you connect to the 'broadband connection' using ethernet and the
provider
| requires no software be installed...
| (and you do not have a cable/DSL router)
|
| - Unplug (from power) the broadband modem (cable modem, DSL modem, etc.)
| - After about 5 minutes - plug it back into power.
| - Turn off your computer.
| - Make sure the ethernet cable is running from the modem to the computer.
| - Turn on the computer.
| - Enjoy the Internet.
|
| Otherwise - if none of that sounds right, if you have a routers, if you
| connect using USB, if you think you need software/a logon/something else
| provided by you to your broadband internet provider... Contact them.
