Pardon my ignorance but I just got a new computer and decided I could set it
up myself...

Everyting went suprisingly well, I transfered all the files pretty much
flawlessly but I still have several issues I can't figure out.

1. I don't know how to move the IE button and Outlook button into the task
bar. On other computers I have been able to drag and drop it there but that
doesn't seem to work now.

2. I have the screen settings at almost the lowest point, on the desk top
the font looks kind of rough but the size is nice. When running programs
the font is much smaller and sometimes difficult to read. I have look in
preferences in most of the programs but do not see where I can change the
font size.

Are the fonts between the desk top and applications managed by different
controls?

Thanks

Open control-panel,start/task bar,task bar,add program.As far as the visual
goes, you should try "clear-view" by microsoft, you can download from xp
home,downloads.

1. Right click your taskbar - toolbars - check"Quick Launch" to enable. To
add IE and outlook there just drag & drop your shortcuts to there.
2. Right click your desktop and select Properties. Click Appearance tab. You
will see a d setting called "Font Size". You can change it whatever you want.
And here is a good document for it.
