We use Windows Messenger to relay messages throught our
network. Recently I added a couple of newer computers to
our network. The network is Microsoft SBS 2000. I
having problem with one computer unable to connect to the
network with Messager. All other software is working,
including exchange, shared faxed, Outlook, Internet, etc..

I'm able to logon as that user on other computers and
send & receive messages.

I'm unable to logon on as any user on this one computer.

I tried unistalling, reinstalling different versions with
out any luck.

Can some help?

Thanks!!!

Greetings Jeff,

Here are some suggestions you might want to check/try:

1. The date on the computer needs to be set properly -- double click the clock verify that
the time and date are set.
2. Clear the IE cache and cookies -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then click the Delete Files button, and when that's complete click the
Delete Cookies button.
3. Check the IE Security settings -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check
for server certificate revocation" is unchecked. Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL
3.0' is checked, then click OK.
4. Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

Then try again.

Morning,

I went to the passport web site it wanted me to run the
wizard, but I thought that this wizard was for the MSN
Messenger not Windows Messenger.

I did run through the wizard under my personnel email
account and it did sign on.

Let me know if this was the reaction you were expecting.

Thanks..
