New computer, have windows xp, no calendar in outlook???

I'm not very computer literate, but I just bought a new computer and set up
my outlook with my email address. While doing this, I realized that I don't
have a calendar option. Do I need to download this separately into my
outlook?

Can anyone advise me what to do or where I can find the calendar?

If you're actually using Outlook and you can send mail, then there will be a
calendar. Are you sure you're using Outlook? Click Help>About and post
what it says.
 
If you do not have Microsoft Office, then you are using Outlook EXPRESS
which does not have a calendar.
