When I eject the old cd from the CD Drive by using the
eject button on the drive and put in a new CD, XP does not
always recognize the new CD.

When I go to MY COMPUTER to see the Drive, it still think
it has the old CD.

Chun,
The icon cache is refreshed periodically, not in 'real time'.
Right click the drive click 'refresh' and that will renew the view.

I tried to refresh. I even try to close and reopon My
COMPUTER. It still show the same icon

renew
the view. does
not

.

Chun,
I've noticed that if a disc is dirty or scratched then Windows can't pick up
the index from the CD.
Try a quick clean, maybe that will help
Hope this helps,

Are these disks formatted with third party packet writing software like
Direct CD? If so you should use the software eject method rather than the
eject button as data is written to the disk prior to ejection when you use
packet writing.
