I tried it and went back to 5.2, it seems to change all the text sizes
in my applications - very small.

Check your screen size, I run at 1280x960, after installing it defaulted to
1280x1024 and did the same to me, changed back to 1280x960 and all is well.

It also added OpenGL 2.0 support...

Yes, I re-installed 5.3 and discovered that my screen size was set to
1280x1024 insteadof what I had - 1024x768 - quite a change. I can
still read everything so maybe I will leave it there and see if I can
get used to the increase space in my desktop. I have to check what it
does to the games I play, they seem a lot slower. Maybe the screen
size changed there too.

No Kotor 2 fix. Un-****ing-believable

What's the problem ith KOTOR2? I am planning on getting the game and would
like to know what I'm getting into with my Radeon X800 Pro.
If the new drivers do not work with KOTOR2, which ones will work fine with
the game?

But 1280x1024 is a 5x4 ratio resolution and will make everything appear wider than it
actually is.

Instead, go to 1280x960 to get back a proper 4x3 ratio and I think you'll be happier :)

There's terrible stuttering on Dantooine. I'm using Cat 4.11 which are OK.

Hi there,

Add this line

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

in the
[Graphics Options] section in swkotor2.ini

This wil fix that bug

Anyone run a 3D Mark or Counter Strike source video stress to see any
performance gains? Word on the street was that Half-Life 2 took a
performance hit with 5.2. Dont see a real need to upgrade if everything is
working fine.

Blame the game not the drivers... sigh.

Shit game anyway.

Pluvious

Given ATI list it as an unresolved issue in their release notes it would
appear that it is a driver issue.

Alright, I got the game and have had really bad framerate on Dantooine.
copying the atioglxx.dll file from the Catalyst KOTOR hotfix drivers
(Catalyst 4.11 beta) into the game directory seems to have resolved the
problem, though.

Exact same error warning here: "SRB command
failed-SRB_GET_DEVICE_PROPERTY" Also TV installation freezes before
completion in the new MMC.

After 5 different attempts, I reformated and reinstalled the previous
driver and MMC. All is well again.
