I'm after a new card that will run all today's games, and not be dead and
burried in the near future. Problem is I only want to pay about £150. Any
recommendations people?

TIA

The 9600pro is the obvious choice. You might be able to get a 9700 non-pro
which would be better, but those are getting increasingly hard to find (at
least at a good price)

Are all 9600 Pros the same?

How about a http://europe.hercules.com/showpage.php?p=74&b=0&f=1 ?

They are more or less equal in performance. However, you should stay away
from the "EZ" versions. Their memory is clocked slower.

Also, I think its Sapphire who make a 9600pro "Fireblade" edition with
better and faster memory.

So, performancewise (from fastest to slowest):

1. 9700
2. 9600pro fireblade
3. 9600pro
4. 9600pro ez <----- Stay away from this!

Also, if you want to perhaps save a bit of cash and get some change out of
£150, look at the Tyan Tachyon 9600 Pro on www.ebuyer.co.uk (about £99 ex
VAT, £120 or so including delivery)

The reviews on this one though say the memory is slower and can't be
overclocked much, if at all (although you can still overclock the "core" on
this card)

I'm in the same boat (currently have a GeForce MX 440) and want to upgrade
and am tempted by the 9600 Pro or better (haven't decided what my max budget
is going to be yet)
