new browswer window too big!

Just yesterday, I started having this problem. I have read through the posts
regarding wanting a new window to open bigger, but I have the opposite
problem. I want it smaller! When I open a new window, I want it to be as
small as possible so I can continue working in the existing window easier
until the new one opens.

I have tried to resize the new window, close it last, etc, and can't seem to
get it to change. Up until yesterday, there wasn't a problem. But, I
re-installed my internet service dialer and now I can't get it back to the
way I like it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks much.

Open a new window. Make sure the middle button in the upper right is set to
"normal" (a single box) and not "maximized" (double boxes). Close all
previous IE windows. Then using the edges/corners, resize the window to the
desired area. Then while holding down the "Shift" key, close the window by
the clicking "x" button, upper right. This should maintain the new window
size between sessions.

If no joy, this little, free program might help:
