Does anyone know of a setting in XP Home that would stop
browsers from opening a new window.
Internet Explorer 6 on my home computer stopped opening
new windows either using File/New/Window or using the
Start/Program menu.
I installed Netscape to see if Internet Explorer 6 was the
problem but it behaves the same way, so I was wondering if
it is a configuration issue in XP for the way browsers
behave.
All other programs behave normally, e.g. you can open
multiple windows in Windows Explorer.

thanks,
Colin

Colin,
The only sure way is to get a Pop Up stopper program.
Get one that is easy to toggle on and off, as some websites
use multiple windows for their functionality.
Hope this helps
Chek

Alternately, a browser like MYIE www.myie2.com/ which is
a shell for IE has built in pop-up control, as well as
tabbed browsing any many other additional features.
