New Belkin Mouse problem

I'm using WinXp and I just installed a Belkin 5 button optical usb mouse. In
control panel the mouse applet sees only two buttons, even after updating
with Windows update.

My goal is to get the system to see and control the buttons, so I can set
the functions in control panel, not the third party Browser Mouse program.

Please help if you can.

Did you check the Belkin site?
I assume you have the F8E850-OPT - download the XP drivers fromhttp://web.belkin.com/support/download/download.asp?download=F8E850-OPT&lang=1&mode= <
