Later today we will be releasing new versions of the FightAIDS@Home application. This new version is linked to the BOINC 5.4.9 libraries which contain some fixes for some infrequent errors.
Along with the new version of FightAIDS@Home we will be releasing a native binary for Intel-Mac. Members who own Intel-Macs need to make sure that they are using the BOINC 5.4.9 client in order to receive the Intel-Mac binary.
We have also released an Intel-Mac binary for Help Defeat Cancer. Again, Intel-Mac owners need to make sure that they are using the BOINC 5.4.9 client.
The new versions of FightAIDS@Home unfortunately have slight differences in the floating point computations. As a consequences, results returned with the 5.09 version will not compare with the 5.10 version. In order to minimize the number of invalid results, we will send out another result for each workunit that is currently in process. This will give those workunits a good chance to complete under the same version. Once all of these results have been sent out, we will then release the 5.10 version. However, there is still likely to be a higher then normal rate of invalid results over the next week.
