New Accounts wont show up

I had two accounts, one was POP and one was IMAP, things were fine and dandy
until I wanted to delete the IMAP one and add another POP account. I selected
the IMAP account and the folder tree and hit the delete key on my keyboard.
The account deleted. Good.
I proceeded to add the POP account using the Tools -->Accounts option.
Everything was successful, except the new account doesn't show up in the
folder tree at all. The old POP account is still there, but it seems that no
matter how many new accounts I add, nothing new shows up. I've tried
minimizing and maximizing the "Local Folders" tree, I've tried checking for
hidden items, I've tried checking View --> Layout.
Nothing.
How can I remedy this situation? I'm almost certain that my anti-virus is
not causing the problem because I've had it co-exist with Windows Mail for
almost a year without any problems.

Additional information. The email accounts are entirely different accounts
on different servers. They are not related to each other. Even when I try to
add the IMAP one back, it doesn't show up in the file tree.

I feel like I deleted something off the file tree that I wasn't supposed to.
Is there a way to restore the tree to it's default form?

That's not how you delete accounts.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account you want deleted, then click 'Remove'.

Of course. I figured out the proper way to do it and the lesson was learned.

But how can I rectify the current situation?

Thank you for your reply, btw.

Thanks for you reply.

Unfortunately. it didn't work, but I think you were on the right track.
However, after a little research, I found that there really isn't a true way
to reinstall the entire Windows Mail program.

I appreciate your suggestion to upgrade to Windows Live Mail and will
consider it if I can't find another other solutions.

Correct, you can't reinstall just Windows Mail; you would have to
reinstall Vista. Like I said, take the easy way out.
