Clear CMOS maybe?

Thanks, had just tried that, now I get "CMOS checksum error- Defaults
loaded", and then "The system was not correctly shut down and is
working in safe mode speed, please press DEL to BIOS setup table to
set correct CPU speed"

BUT I STILL can't access the damn BIOS. Tried holding DEL down as I
power up-nothing. Just locks up at the above mantioned error message.
ALT-F2 won't boot off a Win98 startup floppy even, so I can't even
flash the BIOS if I wanted to because I can't even get to an A:\
prompt.

Maybe you have the keyboard and mouse switches?
Or the keyboard is loose or bad.

Use a boot able floppy to reflash BIOS. Also make sure you aren't
suppose to hit F1 to enter BIOS. For some reason after a message like
that some BIOS want you to hit F1 instead of the normal DEL key.

switches should read switched
Yeah it looks like maybe they were reversed. In any case now I working
on random blue screen crashes, temps fine, new 400 watt power supply,
more to come in new thread soon :-(
