When Vista and Office 2007 are finally released, what's the process that will
give developers access to the new visual formats? Is it about .NET 3? A new
release of VS?

Hi Michael,

.NET Framework 3.0 is designed for Windows Vista. To take the features of
Windows Vista fully, we'd better to use .NET Framework 3.0.

To develop .NET Framework 3.0 applications, we could use Visual Studio 2005
or "Orcas" .NET Framework 3.0 Development Tools. For more information, you
may visit the following link.

When Vista is released finally, perhaps we will have VS 2005 with a service
pack or a new version of Visual Studio to develop applications for .NET 3.0.

FYI, you could go to the following link to ask questions about UI
development for Windows Vista.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at

Hi Linda!

Sorry that it took so long to get back! I appreciate you insight into how
migration will occur for the new visual interface. I look forward to the new
