Can I use the newest player/viewer (I believe it is
referred to as 2003 viewer) to play a presentation made
in PPt 97? Are there compatibility issues for diffeent
operating systems? (I'm on XP, but I'll be distributing
to other machines with various OS) Does it work better
than the older player/viewer? Does it solve any of the
quirks I experience in the old player?

Any info would help me decide whether or not to try it.
Thanx.

Forgot to ask... do I have to have the Powerpoint 2003
application to be able to use this new viewer? And can
someone on a MAC see my presentation in the 2003 viewer?

Thanx again.

You do not need powerpoint 2003 to use the new viewer

The new viewer does not work on the apple mac.

I believe the mac still uses the old mac viewer.

As I said, it works if you have PowerPoint 97, 2000, 2002 or 2003. This is
a PC Viewer and it does not run on a Mac. There is a separate Mac version
of the Viewer.

Thanks for the help. Where do I get the Mac viewer?

Also, do I simply include the Mac viewer on the CD along
with the presentation that I created on PC... with avi,
jpeg, and wav files... or do I have to create the
presentation on a Mac using mov etc.?

What I'm trying to ask is can my PC Powerpoint 97
presentation be distributed on one CD so that both PC and
Mac recipients can view it.... will the Mac user be able
to view it perfectly by just including the Mac viewer
along with the PC viewer?

You can include the Mac Viewer download file on the CD. However, the end
users will need to install it on their systems and then open the Viewer and
locate the presentation on the CD to play it. I would recommend that you
include some simple instructions with the CD.
