I just purchased a WD 160 GB hard drive. I'd like to add it to an existing
Windows XP installation. However, the documentation tells me I must install
the included disk controller card and I don't have an extra PCI slot. Is
there any way I can get this drive to work with XP without installing the
extra controller? I tried formatting the drive in DOS but it appears to only
be finding 15GB of the drive. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

i installed a 200 gb wd as slave i believe you need win xp service pack 1 update and mother board and bios must support larger hard drive, card was not needed on my system. check win xp update page for service pack after installing go into bios to see if hd recognized then let win xp os load then check my computer to make sure os recognized drive if you are installing as master i am not sure what needs to be done i'm trying to do to my system presently.
