the best improvement in this bios, other than making it more compatible with
the new CPUs, is there is no longer any annoying BEEP BEEP for USB devices.
YEAH! Oh the sweet sound of silence...

Nice to see that it helped to resolve your situation. The upgrade i've done
for the BIOS in my p4p800-vm made the things worst (see my post "Downgrading
the BIOS of my p4p800-vm...possible?") BTW...the fact that you don't hear
the BEEP-BEEPs at POST for the usb devices may be caused by the fact that
when the BIOS is flashed, the default setting in the boot settings
configurations for "Quickboot" is set to "enable". I've noticed that i also
don't have those beeps when this is set to "enable".

I've flashed this bios too but cannot find the setting to silence the usb-beeps. Where can i find it?
Thanks!

What is the beep you refer to? I'm using bios 1010 and I hear a quick "beep
beep" on boot --but I thought that was my video card being found and
otherwise normal.

I do have two USB devices hooked up though.

Am I hearing two beeps for each USB device?

It isn't too annoying as I have the volume turned down to 35% on "PC beep"
in my volume controls -- so I barely hear it. But I thought every bios I
ever used had a beep or two on normal bootup (USB or not).
