I have two computers connected to the Internet by Ethernet cables through a
Linksys WRT54G Router.

#1 computer is Vista, #2 is XP Pro.

I have set up a network between the two, and I can see all the drives on
each computer, working from either one. But when I double click on a drive
that is on the other computer (from either one) I get the message that
"Access is denied, etc..", and for the life of me I cannot figure out what I
have to do to be able to look at those drives.

I am fed up with two keyboards and two mice on my desk, and having to keep
on switching the video cable to work on just one computer.

Can anybody please help me to get out of my misery please? Retirement was
supposed to be fun, but this sure isn't.

Aside from Mark's suggestion, have you thought about using a KVM switch?

A KVM switch will allow you to use the same keyboard, mouse and monitor with
multiple PC's, a simple press of a button switches between the PC's.
