i have 2 computers 1st xp--2nd vista,i have a wired router both connected
xp computer name is work group vista i think is same i cant see other
computer on either computer everything i read says i should automatically
have a network i tried the network wizard and cant seem to get anywhere
please help if u can
 
You want to have two different computer names, but the same workgroup name.
Try workgroup without the space that may be your problem.

Start by putting both computers in the same workgroup - check and make sure.
Then open up firewalls on both computers, to each other. And make sure that the
NetBT Setting is Enabled on both computers.

And look at logs from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer,
so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
