Goodday,

I have two computers running XP Pro SP1
They are in the same workgroup and connected via a Netgear Router with
RJ45

Problem is that I can connect from A to B via Network places etc. but
cannot do the same from B to A

It tells me that I do not have the proper permissions to do this.
Tried a lot of settings but to no avail.
Anyone that thinks he has the answer would be appreciated.

It sounds like authentication is failing which you can verify by looking in
the security log via Event Viewer to see if there are any logon failures. On
computer A make sure you have a user account that matches the logon/password
that you are logged onto computer B with and you must use a password. Also
using My Network places is not the most reliable access method and you might
try using UNC to access computer B by entering \\computerA or
\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx using the actual IP address of computer A in the run box
of computer B. You can use the command ipconfig /all to find the IP address
of a computer. --- Steve
