Andrew

I am set up in a small network with 2 other computers.
The 2 other computers are able to share files. They can
also see that I am included in the network but when they
try to click on my icon, a message comes up
saying "andrew is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this newtwork resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.... The Network path was not found"
Please help if you have any ideas. I think it is some
setting that I am not finding.
Thanks

If the IP address is set to Auto Assign, try turning
on "Enable NetBios over TCP/IP". TCP/IP Properties,
Advanced, WINS.

I have found that if this is off not only can the XP PC
not browse the network (although drive mapping works OK)
but other PCs may not be able to browse either.

If the IP address is set to manual assign this problem
does not seem to arise, probably because Windows changes a
heap of setting between manual and auto assign.
