Hello,
When you say they can't "see" the server, I assume you mean that they can't
browse to it in My Network Places. Because the browser service relies on
server broadcasts, its communication is connectionless and by definition
unreliable. A server's browser role is defined dynamically with periodic
elections, determining the flow of communication used to provide the browse
list to a specific client computer can be difficult.
Because of such these types of problems require alot of detective work,
troubleshooting, information gathering. Depending on the number of clients
in your network you can use an LMHOSTS file or WINS to help browsing. WINS
is definately the easier choice. Install WINS on your Server and point all
of the clients ans the server at it for WINS. This should increase the
accuracy of your browsing environment.
