Hello,
I am really looking for some help on networking my xp pro
computer to a 2000nt computer. It is not working due to
the fact that the 2000nt computer does not have
newtorking wizard on it. If anyone has any info that
could help me please email me or reply ASAP. Thanks, Chris

For file sharing they should be part of the same
workgroup and share the subnet ie, 192.168.0.1 on one
machine and 192.168.0.2 on the other.
For internet and email you need to go to properties of my
network places and right click on the active connection to
the internet and select properties again. There you will
be able to make it share the internet. A better
alternative is to make the xp share as it is much easier
to use. Cheers.

I'm not sure if you have Windows NT or Windows 2000, which are
different versions. I assume that it's 2000.

Despite what the networking wizard tells you, it's never necessary to
run it on any computer.

The default network settings on XP and 2000 should work fine, provided
that you disable XP's Internet Connection Firewall, as shown here:

Finding computers on the network will be a little easier if you
specify the same workgroup name on each computer.
