Networking Work PC at Home

My work laptop runs win2k in a domain. I'd like to be
able to use at home and connect to the machines at home in
the workgroup. I can access the internet. All the work
group machines can see each other, but the work machine
can't. I managed to resolve this by changing
from "domain" to workgroup, but then couldn't change back
when I returned to work without help from the Admin.

How can I make this transition between environments easier?

THanks,
Paul

Another way would be to create another hardware profile called home, in
which you have your home setings configured such as being part of a
workgroup.

Yet another possibility. Change the name of you home workgroup to the
NetBios name of your work domain. When you logon to the laptop, do not
logon to the domain - logon to the local machine. This will not affect your
domain membership.
